Proper product positioning is ever so critical to a growers success.The moral to the above story is that if you have moderate cyst pressure levels ( 1500 - 2000 eggs/100gms of soil) don't be deceiving yourself into thinking that you can get by without a cyst resistant variety.And if you have ever experienced any kind of Sudden Death Syndrome concerns in the past the cyst resistant variety you grow needs to have a respectable SDS score as well.In the above photo the variety on the right has both cyst resistance and an above average score for SDS while the variety on the left is susceptible to cysts.The yield loss could be half.
